Tri-Ply & 5-Ply

Tri-ply and 5-ply describe bonded layer constructions, not a fixed promise about every pan. The actual materials and thickness of each layer determine the finished product.

A buyer should distinguish a fully clad body from a separate bonded base. Ask for a cross-section drawing that identifies each layer, its thickness and the location of the heat-spreading metal. Then evaluate weight, balance, heat response and finish on the same pan size.

What to confirm in your brief

  • Request the layer stack and thickness specification.
  • Confirm whether cladding covers the whole body or the base only.
  • Review rim finish, handle attachment and sample performance.

Next step

Compare the construction with the actual product type and target market. View related cookware, or return to Stainless Steel materials. The final choice should be confirmed through an approved specification and sample.
